Platform Update: Value Transparency & Smarter Community Proposals
Published June 25, 2026 · Blox Fruits Trade Hub
We've made it much easier to understand where values come from, dispute values you think are wrong, vote on community proposals, and get alerted to new giveaways and articles — all from the home page.
## What Changed
This update focuses on making our value system more transparent and giving the community easier access to the tools for disputing and voting on values. We've also added home page alert banners so you never miss a new article or giveaway.

## Value Basis Card
Every item's value page now shows a **Value Basis** card directly below the current value stats. It breaks down exactly how the displayed value was calculated:
- **Marketplace Demand Signal** — how much weight your real trades on this platform contributed
- **Market Reference (External Anchor)** — how much came from external market data
Items with more trade history on our platform get a **higher marketplace weight**, meaning the community has more influence over their value over time. The card also shows a **data maturity badge** (Market Estimate → Growing → Established → Community-Driven) so you always know how confident we are in that number.
---
## Maturity Dots on Item Cards
The value grid now shows a small confidence dot next to each item's demand score. The dot colour tells you at a glance how much of the value came from real trading data vs. an external estimate:
- 🟠 **Market Estimate** — mostly external data, early days
- 🟡 **Growing** — some trade history building up
- 🟢 **Established** — solid mix of platform trades and reference
- 🔵 **Community-Driven** — primarily our own marketplace data

## "How Our Values Work" — Now in the Navigation
The full methodology page at [/how-values-work](/how-values-work) explains our three-input system (Marketplace Demand Signal, Community Proposals, Market Reference Anchor) in plain language. It's now listed under the **More** dropdown in the navigation so it's one click away from anywhere on the site. The page is also now properly indexed by search engines.
---
## Community Proposals — More Accessible
The **Community Value Suggestions** section has been moved up on every item's value page. It now appears right after the Value Basis card — so you see it before the history chart, not buried below it.
The **Value Basis card** also has a new **"Dispute this value ↓"** shortcut link in its footer. Click it and the page scrolls straight to the proposal form. No more scrolling through pages of history to find the voting section.
The **"Sign in with Roblox"** prompt in the proposals section now correctly triggers the login flow instead of going back to the homepage.
---
## Stricter (and Fairer) Proposal Rules
The approval threshold for auto-applying a community proposal has been raised to **90%** (up from 65%). The minimum number of voters required now **scales with how many users are registered**:
| Registered users | Min voters needed |
|---|---|
| Up to 10 000 | 10 |
| 25 000 | 25 |
| 50 000 | 50 |
| 100 000 | 100 |
| 200 000+ | 200 (cap) |
This prevents small coordinated groups from pushing through a value change when the site is large. **IP-based vote deduplication** has also been added — each unique IP address can only cast one vote per proposal, making it much harder to run multi-account manipulation.

## Homepage Alert Banners
Two new dismissible banners now appear directly below the navigation bar on the home page:
- **Teal strip** — shows when a news article was published in the last 7 days, with a direct link to read it. Dismissed per-article, so a new article will show a new strip.
- **Amber strip** — shows when there is an active giveaway, linking straight to the Giveaways page. Dismissed per-giveaway.
Both banners remember your dismissal in your browser, so they won't reappear for the same item.
